A purple Angel, peonies and a long lost cousin!

Did that get your attention?? well first is my new painting "Purple Angel", then a photo of some peony flowers I treated myself to, they are my favourite flowers, I love how they are layer upon layer of tissue like petals. I have some in my garden, but not enough flowers yet to pick.#The long lost cousin is my Grandads cousin from Australia, who after 25 years of family history research we found a few years ago, the funny thing is that she was looking for us all that time too. She has come to England , and went on a criuse to Iceland which just so happend to call in here at the Isle Of Man for the day, so we got to meet her and her friend, and took her for a grand tour of the Island. We are goin to England at the end of July and she is meeting up with us at my parents, so we shall see her again then.

I feel sooo much better now that I got a new painting finished :)
I LOVE Frida...do you?
She is painted on wood, with lots of gorgeous layers.
The little skull stamp in the corners is one I made myself!

Artfest!!!

I had the most WONDERFUL time over the weekend at Artfest. I made so many lovely new friends, played with lots of art stuff, did the best workshops. The company was good, the hotel was great the food brill- just FAB!!!
I loved learning how to hand carve stamps, I really need to order the knives now so I can make some more, and I loved learning how to neeedle felt- this could be my new obsession!
One of the photos is the stamps I made ( I love the little birdie one!), and the other is the first night outside the restaurant, although 3 people aren't on it as 2 were arriving on the Sat, and the other we forgot and left behind at the hotel!! yes really- we had to go fetch her...as you can guess we had a real fun time. I am 6 in from the right in the blue and white top!

Featured!!!

Hi everyone, I had to let you know about a lovely fellow artist who has featured me on her blog, her name is Cara, click on her name to take a peek. She is trying to encourage etsy artists from the UK.

Also to let you know I am away from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th, as I am going to Artfest!!
Its a weekend of art and workshops that some of us from atcsforall.com in the UK have organised so we can meet together and trade and make art and have fun.
I am so excited, I can't wait to see some of the girls I have already met, but also those I haven't yet. I am looking forward to learning some new skills, I am really looking forward to the needle felting I have wanted to try that for ages.
Well I shall let you know all about it when I return, and hopefully have some photos.
