I really want to thank you, each and everyone of you who have dropped by my blog. I appreciate so much that you took the time to look and am so grateful for all the encouragement you have given me. I feel I can go into the new year knowing I am doing something right! I look forward to making more art.

Etsy fever

Well I have only been on Etsy a week and already I have been on two treasury pages! wow!

Thankful

We don't celebrate thanksgiving here, but I have family and lots of friends in the US, so I feel its good today to take time out to be thankful for all I have. So here is a list of things I am thankful for;

Family,friends,love,Gods grace,sunshine,home,the sea,the internet and all the wonderful people it has brought into my life,blogging,art,peonies,veggie sausages,strawberries,chocolate,glue,paper,wood,mail,rain,books,brushes,hairdryers,lipstick,christmas lights,fabric,sparkly things,colour,holidays I have had this year,my craft room,craft supplies,suziblu,webcams(get to see my family),cameras,tv,washing machine,dish washer,my bed,trees,birdsong,music,hugs,kind words,poppies,cats,ribbon,buttons,atcsforall,.........I could go on!

I have so many lovely pieces of fabric, and I never seem to use them so today I was inspired to make something with them. I came up with a heart and a couple of houses.They are all hand stitched so by no means at all are they perfect but if anyone would like one just send me an e-mail with your details and I will post it off to you. I finally made something!

I was beginning to think I would never get back to making something, I have been home a week now, gee my holiday sure put me out of my stride!! Anyway I made these 2 pictures which are in magnet photo frames and a few dolls- I feel sooo much better!!!

I'm Backkkkkk!

I am back from my Holiday and I had the most wonderful time! The thing that surprised me most was that I went totally into holiday mode and did NO art whatsoever! I cannot believe this!Anyway hopefully I am all chilled and refreshed and will soon get into my groove.
Florida was great, we had a lovely villa with pool, we shopped , we visited Universal studios and Islands of adventure, we had a trip over to see friends at Long Boat Key, went to see Orlando Magic play Basketball, and generally relaxed. I got to shop at Jo Ann's and Micheals so I was very happy!
I now have to spend a while catching up with everyones blogs!

I am off on my holidays!!!

Just to let you all know I will be away from 17th- 31st Oct. I am off to Florida, I shall tell you all about it when I get back. I am taking my sketch book for the journey, so hopefully I will get some inspiration!

I've been busy!

Yep I finished the hippy chic, though I am not sure I will call her that yet? Also I started a new Angel one and finished that today! Both are ready for beeswax. I think when I get back from my hols (I am away 17th Oct -31st) I will look at opening an Etsy store, and these will go on sale!!! I am so excited.

A "cuppa "if you don't know is a cup of tea!, I made this chunky book page (4 x4) for my good friend Mary aka therapyartist over on http://www.atcsforall.com/. She asked for one of my girlies with a cup of tea, so thats what she got!

I am working on a new girly on wood, a kind of hippy chic, I will post pics when I am done.

Kitty Love and hold on to your dreams.

I have been busy on two new pieces, one is Kitty love, I am really pleased with the colours on this one, its ready for beeswax, the other is hold on to your dreams, which is a suprise for my niece, I need to add something else(not sure what yet?).

Gold leaf and fresco flakes.

I have been playing today! I added gold leaf to my angel and fresco flakes to my friendship seeds. Fresco flakes are from Stewart Gill and are like flakes of peeling paint. i really am ready to beeswax them both now.

Angel and friendship seeds update

Ok I have been working on the layers on my Angel and Friendship seeds for the Suziblu workshop. It has been hard for me not to be so precise!! and to take time and walk away between layers, I think its called learning patience, lol! Anyway this where I am at with them, can't wait to add the finishing touches.

More woodburning!

I am still waiting for my paints to come! Meanwhile I woodburned and did the face for another painting, friendship seeds.I think I may be getting the hang of this woodburning lark ,as I even managed to write with it!

Layers!

Ok here is a peek at the new Angel on wood that I started, I managed to get a few layers on her today, she is starting to take shape. I am waiting on my new Stewart Gill paints to arrive, then I can do the next layer!

Schools back!

Yep the boys finally went back to school today! So maybe I can catch up with all my art projects now! I am so consumed with the Suziblu workshop at the moment I haven't got much else done! I have a few atcs for people I need to do and some christmas chunky pages to do. I got a new piece for the workshop started today and this time I will try to follow the steps and not rush ahead lol. I am really pleased with how the shading of the face came out, I wont show you a pic yet though, I will wait until she is a bit more developed.

Made my own stencil!

For the suziblu workshop we had to use stencils to embelish the background. I didn't have any so made my own! I was really pleased with how the stencil turned out and here is the finished piece with the stencils used on it!

New canvas

I painted a new canvas last night. It is 10 x 10 inches, mixed media.

Its my Birthday!!!

I have been sketching like mad, I had to add colour to some ( I know but I am excited to get to the painting bit!).

I am sooo excited, taking suziblu's class!

Yep I ummed and ahhed, but took the plunge, and joined suziblus online class. I am soo excited. Suziblu has been such an inspiration, and now I get to learn more! I know I am not a beginner by any means, but you can always learn something new right? I have picked up some great tips on eyes already, but I am chopping at the bit to get to the painting part and the layering. These are a couple of sketches I have done already.

Angel art doll!

I made an art doll taday, and I am really pleased with how she turned out. My lovely friend Dar made me a purplecat art doll and kindly gave me instructions of how to make them, and of course I had to make an Angel one!
